POTC Block 4 and 5

Golden Harvest

Pumpkin Crossing

Golden Harvest is really more golden then the picture shows, but you get the idea. As you can see, I did a little fussy cutting in the middle. I even fussy cut my last Dear Jane block. Pumpkin Crossing reminds me of a pumpkin patch at harvest time. When all the foliage has died and all you see is rows of pumpkins.

Fabric for my Civil War Bride quilt arrived in the mail last week. I went with Circles and Dots, from the Bonnie Blue Neutrals collection. This should make for a nice background. Block one is now prepared for hand applique and I hope to start stitching this week. My plan is to use all reproduction fabric. With that said, I know I will need to purchase some black and gray fabric and lots more green, for all the foliage.

I've also been working on Karen's Flower Garden and must confess that I didn't get as many flowers made over the summer as I hoped to. And, well I am confessing, my two miniature quilt books are still sitting on my bedside table, only a quarter read because I keep falling asleep.

And, it's time for my Tiny Baskets to come off the design wall and get stitched together. All this time has passed and I'm going with my first idea. Very simple, as not to distract from the baskets. As for my Louisa pyramids, I'm thinking table topper with an appliqued border.

Until next week.....happy quilting!

Karen

The colors in those blocks are just beautiful. Good luck with all your project...I like to have different things going at the same time too. You don't get bored that way.

I just got back from a trip so I'm catching up with your posts. I love your POTC. Where did the pattern come from? You have so many projects going at the same time, how do you keep them straight? I've been following others doing Red Delicious. Yours is great.

Thank you again. Read you post and added my email address. Last night I spent a lot of time reading a lot of your older post's. I too started with hand piecing and minature's. Found since I have gotten older the eye's aren't the same. Now I do a lot of machine sewing. Did 9 or 10 lap quilts for the Sunshine group on Yahoo and have another 10 oer 12 tops done and needing to be quilted. It is my first attempt at doing that. I was a nurse and when I had to go on disability I did 17 full size quilt tops in 6 months with just scrap stuff. Still have a few of those to finish. All for give away. I now have about 6 or 7 full size tops to finish with the batting and quilting. I don't know how to machine quilt so I tie them instead. I have for for self that I have probably washed over 200 times and it is still in the same shape as it was when I made it.

Two ladies from the Sunshine group sent me a lot of scraps cause all my stuff is in storage in Florida. That is what I used to do the quilts and tops for Sunshine. I will be ecstatic when I can afford to go to Florida and get my stuff out of storage. So pass the word for me that I am still looking for scraps and will gladly pay the postage. I don't care how small the pieces are cause I do crumb block and strings for the quilts.

Thank you again for looking and commenting.

Love your golden harvest and pumpkin blocks. They are lovely colors and look so amazingly different out of the same thing. You seem to accomplish a LOT. Lately I haven't done anything at all!!
