Earth Day (week) has arrived and my Going Green quilt (a quilt with an environmental message) is complete. I kept it simple, a tree for Earth Day and the perfect quote by John Jeavons. My little quilt was done by hand and I used bamboo batting. To see what I thought of the bamboo batting, click on The Bamboo Report.
Back in January, I invited you to join me in making a Going Green quilt. If you did, be sure to leave a comment on this posting (deadline date April 26) and a link back to your blog, so I can see your quilt. If you do not have a blog, leave a comment, with your name and e-mail address. You must then, e-mail me a photo of your Going Green quilt, to qualify for the draw.
Until next week.....happy quilting!
Karen

I used bamboo batting , and not a stitch of new fabric. All from my scraps, no waste, hannd quilted.
Your Green Quilt is fantastic! I just love it.
Great quilt, your applique is impeccable!
Such a sweet little quilt, Karen. As usual, beautiful workmanship and the quilting is awesome. I always loved to hand quilt but don't anymore merely for the time it takes and fingers that are not as limber as they used to be. It's such a comforting thing to do, however. Do you think spring will arrive this week? It's beginning to green up here.
Oh....you would make my son proud! He is a tree hugger, yes indeed. He goes to NC State for Environmental Engineering and I guess I should get a picture of his tattoo! Yepper, the kid went and put a recycling tattoo on his chest just a few short weeks ago!
This is so appropriate. The hand work is perfection. I can't enlarge it, so did you hand embroider the quote? Haven't tried the bamboo batting yet but my friend loves it and it comes in black too.
Such a lovely little quilt. Are you going to show the other ladies quilts on your blog so we see what others made?
Hi Karen,
This quilt is beautiful and I love the quote...just perfect. Your hand work is wonderful too.
