There you have it; Karen's Flower Garden quilt top is complete. I decided to remove the border and go borderless. But, not to worry, the hexagons will not be wasted; I need them for edging the back of the quilt.
It had to be done if I was ever going to see a finished quilt. So, I reduced the number of Klosjes and ended up with a lap size quilt, perfect for a chilly evening. Once it's quilted that is!
And, the hand quilting is complete on my Tiny Thimble quilt.
Because it is hard to see the quilting, I will show you the templates. I stitched a single wave in green thread across the thimbles and red thread was used for the border.
So, what I am up to now?
I'm down to the last couple of hours of hand quilting my Friendship Star quilt. And, I have been testing out my double bladed X-Acto knife as I prepare a template to use on Red Delicious, which is next in line for hand quilting. My teatime project is Love's Young Dream, the February Sweet Nostalgia BOM block.
Until next time.....happy quilting!
Karen

I am so glad I saw your post. I love your hexagon quilt and that it doesn't have a straight edge. You have given me hope. I started putting together my hexie quilt 2 yrs ago without a garden path. I had a large area sewn together and papers removed. Only to realize it would never have even edges. seeing yours makes me think I can recover mine. Thank you so much.
Hi Karen, well knock me over, the hexy quilt top is "S"tunning!! So happy for you...
The Klosjes look wonderful, a wise decision on the number of them, and they will be perfect as a lap quilt for your sofa.
The hand quilting is beautiful, well done, and great to read of your upcoming projects... x
Wow! Your hexie quilt top is gorgeous. Wow again. I can hardly wait to see your finished quilt.
Yeah, I understand. Sometimes you just have to make a decision and go with a smaller size. Good to hear things are getting finished.
Wow, your hexie top is so fantastic. And all your other work too.
Greetings from Germany Grit
loving your flower garden! well done. the klosjes quilt is amazing. I have never tried them. Are they as addictive as hexies.
Hope to see your feb sn block soon.
Well done, Karen!
I'm working to a hexagon quilt too, with my quilting group, so I underestand the hard work, but the result is wonderful. Thank you for the tutorial. Happy sewing!
Wow, what a stunning quilt, Karen! Thank you for the tutorial, it is such a nice way for edging the quilt!
The klosjes are beautiful, what a nice "winter"klosje.
Have a nice day, Cisca
Your hexagons are beautiful!
Hi Karen, your Flower Garden is looking so beautiful, and I like it borderless. The Klosjes - absolutely stunning. Your Tiny Thimble quilt is so cute, just lovely.
Enjoy your Sweet Nostalgia Bom, it is a nice stitchery.

Your Flower Garden quilt top is beautiful! I love the colors...:)
WOW!!!! Amazing finishes! Now for me to get back to working on those one flower Wednesdays so I can finish something amazing like you did!
Lovely flower garden.
And great your klosjes.
Wow, lovely quilts! I like how you've chosen to do your hexie quilt. I've been pondering doing one myself and I really like how you put them together. The thimble quilt just vibrates with color and I bet it looks wonderful on the wall.
Do you find cutting with an X-Acto knife is tough? Would you mind showing us your process of that? I haven't made my own quilting template in a long time....
Enjoy your day,
Judy
Wonderful quilts, especially the hexagon one. Love the fussy cut snowman, though!
Congratulations, Karen ! your quilts look wonderful. Maybe I should start sewing the last 12 flowers for my garden ?
hugs
Angelika
I love your hexie quilt. Thank you for sending me to a tutorial on finishing the hexies. I love all of your quilts. Great job!
Great job finishing the top! I like the technique for finishing the edges too. I'm going to have to remember that.
Karen you have been busy! Your flower garden is beautiful--love the colors. Did you have a layout plan or did you just start stitching them together? Your Klosjes will make a nice lap quilt. I'm finding that not every quilt project has to be a full size quilt. I have been setting aside scraps to start making Klosjes, but need to finish up some things first. Nice color selection on your Tiny Thimble quilt.
Oh the hexie top is beautiful ,love all your work. I'm sure it is going to inspire a lot of people. Thanks for all the lovely pics.
:-))
Oh. My. Gosh. What awesome quilts! I love the hexies. I've really got to get back to mine again, and get it sewed together.
Your hexie quilttop is beautiful! And it is good to see the others that you have finished. You always do such pretty work. My Red Delcious still hangs unfinished (needs borders) on a design wall in the basement. I have quite a few unfinished projects - but feel like I have also finished many. Enjoyed your pretty post! Carol

I love seeing your embroidery blocks and congratulations on finishing your spool top...I think we all thought we could make that one really large after seeing Susi's finished quilt. You should be very proud of your top...the fabrics are very pleasing...and it is DONE! Woohoo! (Mine are still languishing in a box somewhere...)
In stitches,
