According to Rayna Gillman, you can't make a mistake in free-form quilting, so with that said I jumped right in and gave it a try. The plan was to read both books from cover to cover before I started, but when I got to the chapter on technique I couldn't help myself. Once you get going, it is almost impossible to stop. At some point, I will stop and piece this puzzle together, curious to see what I end up with.
Very exciting!
Release date: August 2012
Until next time.....happy quilting!

Look forward to seeing your quilt top when you peice all the blocks together. Looka like a fun way to stitch.
Well Karen, this is something new on your blog. How exciting. I love it so far, looking forward seeing it all pieced together. I have been practising "Skinny Line Piecing Technique", and it is fun. I see you have some skinny lines there.
I'm sure you are having lots of fun.
Wow = this looks fun and a totally different way to build quilts. have fun with it!
Well done so far!!
Fun to see you working with the more contemporary quilting. I find that I love so many different styles, all the colors, most of the methods - it's such an exciting hobby. I love applique, paper piecing, scrappy quilts, Kaffe Fasset, 20's and 30's quilts, civil war - just have done almost all of it. Enjoy, Karen!
Have fun. It's great in solids but wouldn't be the same in prints.
Just happened upon your blog and I've enjoyed seeing your quilting projects. I especially like this post and the units you've built. Solids are so interesting to work with. It will be interesting to see how it looks all together. Have fun!
