Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sure, it's a good day t' be Irish
Being as it is, St. Patty's Day
Be proud of yer' Irish blood
And drink gallons of Guinness today

I'm going to pass on the Guinness for a nice cup of Irish tea.  Lyons, Barry's and Bewley's are the most popular teas in Ireland, but I think Twining's Irish Breakfast is pretty darn good too! They all contain a good amount of Assam tea known for its robust, malty flavour.

To make a wee cup of Irish tea, first you need to bring fresh cold water just to a boil, and then steep your tea for 5 minutes.  When the tea is ready, fill up to a 1/3 of your teacup with rich (whole) milk, then pour in the tea.  Sugar to taste, sip and enjoy!

How about a nice Glazed Irish Tea Cake to go with that?

Guinness or tea, it's a very good day t' be Irish!

Yep Twinings Irish Breakfast tea is quite good. I have an electric kettle made by Krupps for quick heating of H2O, i wish I could control the temperature it reaches as the temp makes a difference in the brew. I have another by Zojirushi that gives some options for temp, but it takes 20 minutes! Too long for first cup 'o the day! Happy Patty's Day a day late. With grandchildren yesterday. Read Celtic literature earlier today and will watch The Secret of Roan Inish & sew this afternoon in honor of St Patty. Take care! B
