Block 18 of the Civil War Bride quilt stitched in a timely manner, but how is it possible for three weeks to pass by before I find five minutes to French knot the eyes? Anyway, the girls are finished and looking rather lovely. Another block with tiny toes, but a challenge I quite enjoyed.
Until next time.....happy quilting!
Karen
Beautiful! I'd run screaming from those toes.

Absolutely beautiful block and beautiful work! Carol
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Yes those toes would have me running away.
ReplyDeleteI love the bird's "petticoats!" If I'm required to do a french knot then this block is NOT for me! I can't seem to get the hang of them and believe me I've tried, I used to take them to my Mom for her to do but since she passed I have to find alternative. Anyway, enough of my troubles. It's a beautiful block, someday I'd like to see one of these in person. I think the workmanship is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it, but those toes!! What else needs to be said, your work is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour block is beautiful Karen! Love the pink underskirts! As for those toes - perfect!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful block! I know now that I took a second look at it that there not turkeys been from the USA too much on my mind about turkey day.
ReplyDeleteYour ostriches look lovely! I like your fabric choices. I have been debating weither or not to include this block in my CWB quilt and have not decided yet. I see yours and think I should make it and then decide.
ReplyDeleteReally cool block. It's so interesting that such an unusual bird would show up in quilt blocks. Being a recycling/upcycling fan, I really liked your saved table as well.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
The pink fabric used on the birds body is a very good choice. Makes the birds stand out.
ReplyDeleteW*O*W this is a stunning block. You did a marvellous job there. Especially considering the tiny toes!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great job on these birds!! Love the look of the little heart on the beak!! Have a great weekend, hugs, Daniëlle
ReplyDeleteVery funny block! And very nicely made.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you saw that I started blocks from a book about Lucy Boston. Just a minute ago, I saw a button in your sidebar about a pattern, I didn't even know that existed! That is a coincidence don't you think? Are you making that quilt?
Have a nice weekend,
groetjes
Annemieke

Those birds look like they will just stroll right off the block, so charming & beautifully executed.
ReplyDeleteLove your block, such pretty colors! You did a great job on those tiny toes.
ReplyDeleteLook at those dainty feet! Beautiful work-- and such a fun block. :) You should definitely not be feeling bad about those delayed French knots. I've got a block that needs them that is nearly 4 years delayed at this point. :P
ReplyDeleteGreat Block, I am yet to make this one. I am slowly making progress in between all the other quilts I have on the go.
ReplyDeleteCheers
