Happy New Year!

The Old Year has gone.
Let the dead past bury its own dead.
The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time.
All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!

 ~Edward Payson Powell

My holiday blog break is now over and I have lots of catching up to do.  I did sneak on the computer a few times to visit members of One Flower Wednesday and to post my weekly Dear Jane blocks.  Now it is time to tend to my e-mails and comments and see what others have been up to.

I guess I was not on Santa's naughty list because under the Christmas tree was a brand new laptop computer, printer and router to go wireless, such a big change from my desktop computer.  Needless to say, I have been busy saving files from my old computer and setting up my new one, a very big job indeed!  My camera software would not work with Windows 7, but I found a free download, from the manufacturer, to make it compatible. It came with a little glitch and I have yet to work it out.

I did complete my November and December Ring in the New! blocks over Christmas and will post them as soon as I finish setting up my new computer.  Still no sewing machine, I brought it in for service on November 3 and I am still waiting for the new keypad to arrive.

New Year's Day is one of my favourite days of the year and is when I like to set up my Day Planner.  There is nothing like a fresh start, but this year I was away on New Year's Day and am just getting to it now. I feel so behind!  LOL.  Anyway, I am off to finish my Day Planner, but first I would like to wish you a happy and healthy New Year!

Until next time.....happy quilting!

Karen

Moving data and programs from an old computer to a new laptop isn't fast, but it sounds like you have it under control. You MUST have been a good girl!
I like the fresh beginning of a new year, hanging up new calendars turned to January, writing the first words in a journal or planner -- it's a clean beginning.
Here's to a wonderful 2011.
