Is it just me or have hours turned into minutes? Maybe it is just the changing season, with summer just around the corner, grass to cut, gardens to tend and more outs and abouts. A couple of weeks have passed with very little time spent quilting and this makes for a very sad quilter. It's time to regroup. I'm hoping that by the time June comes to an end I will be able to settle into a new normal flow and the change of direction will lead me to a few extra hours, under a big old shade tree, happily stitching away.

22 made over the past 2 weeks
With a minute or two, here and there, I managed to piece together some very special klosjes, from scraps of fabric Jeannet sent me. And, even from scraps of fabric you get leftovers, enough to make 20 1-inch squares for my Postage Stamp quilt. Thank you so very much Jeannet!
I almost went with an Aged Muslin background for my Patchwork of the Crosses Shades of Autumn quilt, but by chance, I ordered some Hoffman's Bali Hand-Dyed Bluff Watercolors and I think this is the one, a medium light neutral that will frame the blocks nicely.
Time in the garden brings a smile to my face, as Peony flowers turn into beautiful crowns.

Just keep on keepin on~it's easy to look at so many blogs and think how did they do this or that and still?!?! I have begun to turn off the computer and hope that my friends know that I'm still here and will make my way round to visit, but have home duties. :)
Oh those beautiful klosjes. I want to make them too, I realy do. But I'm working the hexagons, silversmithing a pendant for my niece, weaving kitchentowels and a scarf, quilting a kingsize quilt for our bed and I spin and knit too. But Oh, those klosjes ;-)

Sometimes it's working, and I got all the time I need. But most of the time?.. I guess we want to do it all. I love you klosjes. It will be so pretty when there are joined together. I had to catch up with schoolwork (papers, assessments) I wish I could turn the computer off.

Time does fly by way too fast lately. I think the summer weather makes it harder to stitch as it's difficult to not get outdoors and enjoy the warm weather.

And I love that fabric you got for your POTC blocks. I think it will be a super neutral to set them off.
120 is a lot already! I like all the blue ones in between the rest. I also have little time for sewing and quilting. It is always the same this time of year: busy in the garden and ofcourse nice to enjoy being outside. beautiful picture of the peony 'head'.

Oooo that fabric will look beautiful with your POTC blocks. I think everyone is really slowing down and enjoying early summer. When things start to really heat up, we will be sewing with the AC on LOL.

I am just over 120 klosjes too. It feels good to work on them. I love your klosjes. I swear the weeks are flying by. Each day seems to go faster. There is always things to keep us busy.

I feel exactly the same Karen. Time runs as sand through your fingers (Dutch saying. I only sleep 5-6 hours a night and have about 2 extra hours in a day but still not enough to do what I want to do.

Great klosjes you've made. I like it that you do not make them all the same: some have the same 'bellies' others have contrasting bellies! Great. And I love the see that flower in bloom!

ReplyDeleteKaren, your klosjes are so sweet! I see some Old Primrose Inn fabrics! I love that fabric line and have used it in a quilt for my mom, which I need to get finished. I also used the aged muslin.

My main problem is that, even though I don't have much demand on my time, I just seem to only get done about a quarter of what I used to do. Guess that comes with age but I am so thankful that I am still up and running (well, not "running" running) that I just go with the flow. Have a great weekend, Karen! Carol
