After much consideration, I decided not to proceed with
Red Delicious. It's not that I don't like the quilt, it is
absolutely beautiful and I am very pleased with what I have accomplished. I do plan to make, at some point, my two favourite blocks,
Ruby Tea and
Cherry Basket. So, what I have done is turned my completed blocks into a wall hanging. Better to get these beauties up on the wall, then sitting in a project box. Quilting will be done by hand, with yellow thread, to match the background fabric.
Until next time.....happy quilting!

Great idea to make the blocks into a wall hanging instead of just letting them sit! It's lovely! :0)
I can understand that you are ending the journey by making some of the blocks into a wall hanging. I think it is better to have something finished than to keep blocks waiting for something that may never happen. The wall hanging looks wonderful!
I love the idea that you can use this beautiful quilt as an wall hanging!
I think what you did with the blocks is very pretty. I'm learning small is good!! Even those little accomplishments, give us the motivation to continue on with the bigger ones.
Blessings, Jilly
What a great idea! It looks perfect just like it is.
Well you persevered a lot longer than I did. I completed only two blocks and both of those were donated to a charity.
Your completed blocks make a pretty wall hanger.
It turned out beautiful! And it will look great on the wall compared to buried in a project box...good for you!
Karen it is stunning! What a great idea to turn it into a wallhanging.
Well done! It turned out great with just those blocks. Love it.
That's a great idea Karen. I bet all of us have blocks hidden away somewhere.
Great idea!!! I love how you made into a wall hanging and if that works for ya...It's perfect!!! That is the joy of being creative!!
Karen, beautiful work and great idea to make into wall hanging. I often do the same so I can go onto the next project I have fallen in love with. Cheers Sharron
Ohhhhh this is sooooo pretty! I love what you did with the blocks. Much better to have these beauties on the wall, gorgeous!
These blocks are gorgeous! Hope to see your favorite blocks someday. And indeed: better to display then to hide!
I may steal this idea from you as I have the same four blocks done and just haven't had the time to get started on the rest. Your 'wallhanging' is just lovely!
It's perfect and I love RED.
It's going to be delicious as a wallhanging.
What a lovely wall hanging the blocks make, Karen. You will enjoy it so much. I had to do some fudging getting mine together. Still have to put the border on. There was quite a bit of figuring you had to do on your own. I have made a vow to not succumb to any new blocks of the month this year - I do a lot but not as much as I used to do and need to finish what I have going. Guess I don't realize I am getting close to 82 years old! Still want to do everything I see but that's not all bad either. ;-) Carol
Oh, that looks great as a wall hanging!
What a great idea to make a wall hanging...I, too, have a couple of projects I don't want to finish...and this is a great idea so that all the time spent is not wasted!
It's gorgeous! Making those blocks into a wall hanging is so much better than letting them languish.
Beautiful Karen!! I just love how you decided to use the blocks instead of just packing them away.
Crispy
I like what you ended up making out of the blocks. I probably would have stashed them away. Love the color of it too!
Perfect wall hanging and so beautiful!
Your wallhanging is going to be fabulous! I'm envious at your ability to know when to just set a project aside and call it done. I have a couple projects I probably should do that with, but can't quite let go yet. So they sit.
Good idea.
You should let Esther see it when you are finished. I'm sure she would be delighted with your interpretation.
Karen, The little wallhanging is just gorgeous!! I love it!
Karen, the wallhanging looks wonderful. There just aren't enough hours in the day to complete everything we set for ourselves. lol Judging from your progress chart, you must never sleep!
Yes, these would make wonderful wall hangings! I forget who is a blogger, but they have a hall wall that has all their wall hangings and creations on it. I think that is the best idea! It looks like you can see their hall wall from the livingroom so it has a good view.
Take a pic when you get them hung! :)
Thanks for stopping over at my blog. I'm kinda new at blogging so I'm always pleasantly surprised to see a new comment. If I didn't have so many projects going, I think I would like to try some of those klosjes. I'll just have to add it to my list!
