Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

Well, half Irish!

Maybe that explains my love of the colour green and why a third (or more) of my fabric stash is green.

I was hoping to complete my Wee Bit O' Irish mini quilt, before St. Patrick's Day, but it's not going to happen.

Speaking of wee. . . . . . .

Should I try for a wee bit smaller? According to Paper Pieces that make the precut hexagons, mine is a 1/4 inch hexagon. They measure hexagons by one of the six sides. I would have thought it would be measured from flat side to flat side, through the middle, like my hexagon ruler. Anyway, that's wee no matter how you look at it.

Something did get finished last week. My March A Tisket, A Tasket Basket is complete. I placed my bunny just a little different, then the pattern, after seeing what Kaaren did with her block. Bunny now looks like he is leaping out of the basket.

Don't forget, the third Saturday of March is National Quilt Day. That's next Saturday, March 21.

Until next week.....happy quilting! (and happy St. Patrick's Day)

Karen

Love what you did with the A Tisket, A Tasket block!!
I've got a little stack of .25" hexagons sitting here to stitch but I'm using batiks -- less fraying with such tiny pieces!

I'm in love with green too! Though, I'm only about 1/8th Irish. :P Your little clovers are adorable! And your bunny in it's clover basket is fabulous. And wow-- those are some tiny hexes.

Your bunny basket surely wins the prize this month. The green heart fabric is scrumptious. The hexagon - I don't believe I could ever make anything that small. Happy St. Patty's Day tomorrow, Karen.

The Irish, they spread the word. I'm part of something Irish too, who isn't on this day.
Joke...what do you call an Irishman who graduates from kindergarten? ............
Gifted....
They enjoy life to the fullest!

Green is one of my favorites too. I spent a one week on the round tour in Ireland few years ago. I admit I really fell in love with that country... so green and nice people and rain every day;)
Your Bunny basket is gorgeous!

I am part Irish, but green is definitely not a favorite color.

Oh Karen, I love the fabric you chose for the March T-A-T block. Couldn't be more appropriate!

I don't think I could even hols one of you 1/4" hexies, never mind make one. Too cute!

I love your March Tisket a Tasket basket...and that has to be the smallest hexagon I've ever seen. I've also just copied down your Ursula Leguin quote...I love quotes and don't remember seeing that one before!

I'm 1/4 Irish, and there is no better color than green. (guess that explains all the green quilts around here) I've been trying to break out of my rut and use other colors, and right now I'm working on a PINK project. Pink is NOT one of my favorite colors!

Your teeney tiny hexie is adorable! Those are very little. Different people measure them different ways. I love paper pieces...they are just 2 towns away from me ;)
You basket block is wonderful!!
I too am 1/2 Irish and LOVE green above all other colors and you can tell by my stash! I am trying to think of a quilt I have made that does not have green in it....I think there may only be 1 or 2.

I reckon everyone must have a bit of Irish somewhere! Now what are you going to do with that hexagon, and don't accidentally inhale it, lol
