came about when I decided my Karen's Flower Garden quilt needed some tending. It had been neglected for far too long. Wednesday would be the day of the week that I would make at least one flower. And, afternoon tea seemed like the perfect time to do so. My plan stirred up some interest and soon gardeners from all over the world were rooting through their potting sheds, preparing and planting seeds that would soon grow into beautiful flowers.
If you would like to join our little Garden Party, the only requirement is to make at least one hexagon flower every Wednesday and post your progress at least once a month. Posting on a Wednesday would be ideal and make it easier for others to follow your progress. My garden is now complete with a total of 105 flowers.
You can make your hexagon flowers any size or colour you like and you can even piece them together any way you like, but remember, they must be traditional hexagon flowers! Please do not substitute other forms of hexagons, such as hexagon diamonds as flowers. I would like to keep One Flower Wednesday as it was originally intended. I am English paper piecing mine and would also like to try hand piecing some flowers one day. Of course, this would require me to start another flower garden!

Hi Karen,
Like to join the Wednesday flower garden day.
Great idea, I love hexagons and the English paper piecing method. So I have to get the hexagons out of my closet, choose the fabrics, and will put it on my blog soon. Next Wednesday I will have my first flowers ready to show.
Hi Karen,
I've managed to work out how to add the little sidebar flower garden & the link back to here!!! My very first link that has actually worked I might add! LOL I'm picking out fabric ready for my very first flower on Wednesday.

Hi Karen what a lovely idea. I started an year ago to do some flowers by hand and now they are lying in a box since then. So this would be great to take them out and keep on stitching. So I would really like to join your group. Thanks so much!
Hello Karen, I want to make some flowers and put the picture on my weblog. Is this alright.
I would love to join. I started a flower garden quilt last year that sat untouched for about 6 months. I have recently been working on it and am finally making some progress. My blog is http://createdbybluecat.blogspot.com/

My blog is http://krpeizakrpe.blogspot.com
Oh my goodness Karen!!! Look at the list grow!!! I can't believe it went from a few messages back and forth about dedicating one day a week to working on them to this!!! :)Thank you so much for getting it started. Just look at the inspiration you have created! I probably would not have even started my garden yet if you had not started O.F.W.. Now I am addicted. Thanks also for the printable websites. I have been out of my papers and it sure would be easier to just print my own. I will go do that now. :) xo
I would like to join the Wenesday Garden Party please! I already have a bunch of hex's made for a project, but I have a total of 50 to do. This will help me stay on track! Mine are diamond-ish shaped flowers (like lilies, lady's slipper, or orchid), will this be ok? Come to my blog to see a pic under "What am I up to?". Thanks! Happen "gardening"!
Hi K - I think I fixed the email thing, you'll have to let me know. I'll be happy to make 'normal' flower-hexies with any number of my other paper pieces. ttfn :o)

I pulled them out to make a grandmother's flower garden block for my SBS and now I am back making them...would love to join in the fun with everyone! Blocks are on my blog

Hi Karen - I would like to join your garden party. I am currently working on a "Grandmother's Flower Garden" and am using Mylar templates. I work on it while my husband is at PT and it is my "mental" therapy. My centers are all the same yellow flower print and my petals are all flowered fabric. My pathways are white and I've put 21 together so far - I was getting anxious to see how it would look - I've posted photos on my blog: www.quiltedscottie.blogspot.com. Hope I qualify to join your group -
Judie

Well, I have been lookling at your One flower Wednesday for a long time. Recently started working on English paper pieced hexagons, and am in love. So now, I'm all about signing up for this... but I do not have a blog. Can I link to a flicker account? Thanks for all you do. b
