Klosjes Saturday Report # 4

34
Klosjes Completed
7 made this week

My favourite klosje this week is the blue one or maybe it's the black one or could it be the pink one!  Or, maybe I like them all the same. I have been giving some thought to how I'm going to quilt my klosjes, when the time comes.  I think I would like to quilt around each of the spools.  So, with that said, I have to go back and repress my first batch of klosjes so all seams are pressed into the spool.  And what I discovered, after pressing a few this way, is that they look better and lay flatter then the way I was pressing them before.

Making klosjes every week got me thinking about my Karen's Flower Garden quilt and how behind I am on making my hexagon flowers.  So, I thought that it would be better to make at least one flower a week then to go weeks or months without making any.  Now, I just need to pick the day of the week, then I can watch my garden grow.

My weekend is going to be a busy one and before the rain comes on Sunday, I need to get my Hosta pots out of the shed and ready for their first spring rain.  The ornamental grasses also need to be cut back to the ground and then regular yard clean-up can begin.  I also have a Dear Jane block to piece and a quilt to bind.  And, I'm just going to come right out and say it, I started a new project!  But it's okay.  I started it and finished it.  So, in the next couple of days, I will be back to show you what I have made.

Until next time.....happy quilting!

Karen

Your klosjes look lovely. I think I need a twenty day week so I can work on one project a day. I'm pressing my blocks as you described too because of the light fabrics.

Karen, I think I feel Like that about all my Klosjes... I say I like this one, but also this one... :) Aren't they fun?
:)
I like all of yours, and I totally agree regarding the pressing... Oh, can you imagine the the day we start quilting them? :)
I like your idea of picking a day for working on hexagons... Shall we do it together? :) Let me know!

You have to water that garden to get it to grow.

I like the blue fabric. I don't think I have seen it before.

Your klosjes, once again, look great! And you have a lot planned for the weekend. Good luck on that. And I wonder what the new started and finished project is. I will be coming around later this week again. Good luck with the klosjes. On how to quilt them, I'm not thinking yet. I'm more thinking about when to start sewing them together: the firts hunderd already, or do I wait untill I've made them all... Enjoy your weekend!

Great looking klosjes, Karen. Pretty, pretty fabrics and what a totally beautiful quilt that will be. Sounds like you have a busy weekend coming up. So nice to start thinking about getting a garden ready to leap back to life. I used to love wandering around the yard seeing what all is coming up, but I am in a new phase of life now. However, I still look forward to filling my pots and hanging baskets!! Have fun, Karen. Hugs, Carol

Your Klosje pile is growing and this week's batch look wonderful. I think I will have to start to think about how I will quilt them with regard to pressing the seams? Have fun in the garden and i hope the weather holds off until you get all your jobs done.

They're all my favourites! Interesting to hear your views on the pressing, and delighted to know that you will be adding hexagon flowers to your weekly output. Any plans to sleep at all?

Your Klosjes look great. I like the black one of the far right. :) I am the same way, I have my favorites too. I have been ironing my prints to the spool so there are no seams showing through the lighter prints. It does work great that way.
I have always wanted to start a grandmother flower garden. If you do choose a day I will start making my flowers along with you. :)First I will need to figure out what prints to use. :)

Busy, busy! Love seeing your little spools. And I think it's a great idea to spend a little time with your hexes. One a week is surely do-able. Sigh... someday, I'll have to spend some time with mine again! :)

Karen, thanks for letting me know about the email not showing up. I got that changed. :) Wednesdays sounds like a great day to make flowers. A nice break from other things in the middle of the week. I will have to figure out what prints to use for my flowers and then I'll join you. I look forward to watching your garden grow. :)
