September Resolutions

January is the time of year for resolutions, but I think September is the perfect time to revisit your goals. A time to reorganize, make decisions and get back on track. For me, this would not be possible without my little black book. It holds my list of needed supplies, for new or current projects. It also holds fabric swatches, lots of doodles and an inventory of all my quilting tools, patterns, threads, etc. I don't leave home without it!

Every year I resolve to be a little less the me I know and leave a little room for the me I could be.

I'm going to have to blame the Civil War Bride for my falling a month behind on my baskets. Anyway, here is my A Tisket A Tasket August Basket.

I had a little freezer paper scare. Three grocery stores before I found some. What's with that? I love freezer paper for applique and making my Dear Jane templates. I don't know what I would do without it. Two boxes came home with me, but I'm feeling a need to stock up.

Until next week.....happy quilting!

Thats a nice basket block. But hey, I'm chocolate powered and I have the urge to bake cupcakes for some reason!!! I'm beginning to think the govt. is taking all the freezer paper. Its hard to find here too.

Your basket block looks very good. I wonder how many quilts you are working on, hmm. I only knew of DJ and CWB and all done by hand sewing, wow. Now I got that feeling I have to order some freezer paper today, right now, this minute, because I can't live with out it. And you say it is hard to get, jeeee. Of I go.

Lovely block Karen.

Freezer paper may be hard to find in some areas because everyone is butchering right now and hunting season is opening soon. Don't tell the manufacturers that we quilters depend on it, they will jack up the price LOL.

Karen, save me one of those yummy looking chocolate cupcakes! That is darling. Do you go to flickr and see all the basket blocks? The link is on Anne's website. Fun to look at. Carol

First let me say your basket block is so cute.
Second I have been thinking about resolutions too but I am going to start next year and what I mean is that I am not going to start anything new. I really want to finish some UFO's. All these free BOM have really gotten me behind but I really have enjoyed doing them.

Cute basket block!
Oh..let me tell you when I lived overseas we couldn't even get a roll of Freezer paper on base without special ordering a case! When I would travel to the states I'd fill up my suitcase with all the things I couldn't get...family thought I'd lost it with my roll of freezer paper. And...have you noticed how expensive it is now? Geez!!

I must say that your basket block is tempting me with the cupcakes. Really cute. I also agree that we should revisit our goals. Maybe I need a little black book too. Then perhaps I could remember what my goals were in January.

I carry a book also, but I really like the idea of the inventory, I will have to work on that. I enjoyed reading your blog, very intersting.

I have a black book too. It's sitting right by me this very second...list of things to do etc...I can't function without a list. If you are ever in need of freezer paper, just ask and I'll send you a roll...no problem.
Take care,
Karen
